Let the Adventures Begin

The start of the school year has brought new friends and new adventures to Broadmoor!

It’s been an exciting few weeks filled with all sorts of fun—from meeting a bull frog pulled right from the creek during our field trip to Tilden Park, to excavating white chocolate dinosaur bones during Dinosaur week—and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year has in store for us! So far, we’ve been reading, singing, dancing, playing, painting, cooking, digging, climbing, and splashing away these early days of school, and it’s been a blast.

One of the things we’re most excited about is the return of the Cooking Station, which has allowed our little ones to explore tastes and textures and develop skills like cutting, spreading, and using various kitchen tools. It’s been a wonderful way for kids to flex their emerging sensory, fine motor, and social skills. We’ve made pizza, pancakes, fruit rocket kabobs, homemade tortilla chips, and even applesauce using apples picked from Broadmoor’s very own apple tree!

And whether at the cooking station or circle time, in the (new!) sandbox or the fairy garden, Broadmoor has been full of learning, playing, and fun. We’ve seen new friendships develop and old friendships deepen, and watched little faces light up with awe, delight, and discovery. It’s been wonderful, and it’s just the start!

Here’s to a great rest of the school year, Broadmoor! 🔆
