Skipping, Hopping, Soaring into 2023

It’s been a busy couple of months at Broadmoor! Our little ones have been soaking up the last days of fall and eagerly embracing what’s looking like will be a very wet winter. We’re glad to have Broadmoor as our special place to learn and grow where engaging with the elements - whether real or make-believe - is highly encouraged.

With all of the weather we’ve been getting lately, we’re glad we had a chance to spend some extended time outdoors together on our trip to the Sulphur Creek Nature Center in Hayward. The air was cool and leaves were plentiful - perfect for curious minds and adventurous feet ready to explore with all of their senses. We were so grateful for the warm and welcoming staff at the Nature Center that taught us all about our animal friends, from tiny spiders that can only be seen under a black light to slithering rattlesnakes and beautiful barn owls. We can’t wait until our next visit!

Back at Broadmoor, our families have been just as busy as the little ones embarking on their own learning paths. After an engaging parent education session on curriculum development put on by one of our very own Broadmoor parents, our families took to developing their own play-based learning activities and even had a chance to put their plans into action before the winter holiday break. And you might have guessed it - our preschoolers loved it!

We spent the last couple of the weeks of 2022 sharing family traditions and learning about travel through immersive play - just in time to prepare our little ones for their own holiday journeys to join friends and family, near and far.

Despite a few obstacles thrown our way this fall, we’re closing out the year filled with gratitude for the amazing community we have at Broadmoor and are eager for the fun that awaits us in the new year.

Wishing you a magical new year,

Broadmoor Preschool
